Just came back from Mt Kinabalu trip, 12-15!

I must admit that the Kinabalu trip was quite an experience for me. For those who do not know, it was the first time i had taken a plane and the take-off was quite an eye opener for me. Feels kinda like a rollercoaster to me =)

The whole overseas trip was OK, but Mr Chua shocked all of us by turning up at Changi Airport on 12th. We weren't expecting our VP to turn up for the climb, but I must admit that he is quite a good climber.. On the first day, we met Mr Tng(Supposedly our guide) and went to step in lodge for lodgings. Quite a disappointment actually, seeing that the classy Borneo Hotel was just steps away from it, and we had to make do with a lodging that had old rickety stairs leading to a seemingly normal flat. Took a room with Raymond and Eric and well, they're pretty humane for that matter ^^ Takes a different experience and perspective to know your sirs and ma'ams(yes this word looks funnae.) betta.

Now for the climb. Tiring and aching legs are a brutal factor at the start of the climb, and we were'nt really expecting such a tiring climb. The mountain guides are pretty professional in their work, and they can walk up the mountain WITHOUT watching the steps. pretty cool huh? Not to mention that their mountain guide training includes running up and down the mountain with loads on their back. I kinda lost 2 water bottles during the climb and that left me with just three tiny bottles that a mexican commented as "baby bottles". So that means that all who have drank from those bottles are babies =D (includes chicky beaver and gotfangs) not including me of cuz ;D MsVJ had some difficulty climbing the mountain and took a long time to catch up with us. Eric then helped her up the mountain, and I must admit that was pretty chilvarous. Anyway, it was quite a surprise when we saw MsVJ making it to Laban Rata(should be spelt this way). Three cheers for our ma'am! The fastest climbing team comprised of guofeng me charm and jhos. Not to forget, of course, our wonderful tour guild who lent me a walking stick for my leg cramp ^^

Kinda cold up at Mt Hut, with temperature of down to 10 degree celcius at night. But that is only the beginning of what we are about to encounter.. Food supplied at Laban Rata was nice, and the soup and noodles were amazing! Or maybe thats just me and my hungry stomach :x Our resthouse was a room with old beds and enough bedbugs to form an army to invade USA. Of course, I refrained from touching my own bed, and nobody dared to lie on my bed from then on. Cool huh? ^^'' From there we prepared ourself for the final climb where our limits were about to be tested.

If I could only use one word, and one word only to describe our perilious journey to the top of the world, it would be: ARGH! super cold up there, with temperature of less than 0 degree celcius at night, accompanied by winds ranging from 70-120kph. it is definately not a good experience to be frozen in the dark, but as long as I have my amazing squadies by my side, nothing is impossible =) Reached the foot of the summit where we decided that it was too cold to climb on further. What a pity, seeing that we were near the peak by 150meters only! I swear that the next time we set off to accomplish a task as difficult as this one was, We Will Make It. Afterall, we are the extremists! Peiwen and Yiling were amazing, as they were the only two to make it to the summit at all! I want their coloured certs =x *green with envy* 8 got to the bottom of the summit, but only two dared went up.. But we were almost there huh? However, I think that cuddles didnt help much, and we should have just went straight down to Mt Hut when we reached the point where we could not continue any further. Mr Chua and Eric reached there too! Nothing much more to comment on this part, except that we should be careful not to slip so often on rocks and land on our butts, especially those who had slipped and landed many times. Or maybe that was the shoes.

Now the descent. OUR TOUR GUIDE SUCKS! let me point out WHY he sucks.

1: He did NOT send our lunch up when we were descending, and left us from 12.30 to 6.00.
2: He took us on this trip because he wanted to climb the mountain, and have fun at the same time. Of course, the fun did not refer to us in any situation.
3: He was a completely wonderful tour guide who did almost nothing to guide us during the climb, not to forget that he loved to climb alone by himself.
4: He left me, charm and jhos to climb on our own just to make a dumb phone call to nobody in particular. and that was when charm had a bad pain in the leg.
5: He is a conceited moron who likes to talk about himself.
6: He is an idiotic pig who likes to talk about how unprepared we were, and how un-united we were. Fugger.
7: He complains about every single mistake, and he took great pains to make his own mistakes sound like ours.
8: We hate him.

Isnt that a cool list? And im certain there is more untold. Go figure you fuggy moron -.-
